FAQ
#1: Shaping Instructions issues
Question:
When I request shaping instructions in Garment Styler, I get 'strange'
shaping instructions, e.g. many stitches wide by 1 row, or similar.
Answer:
First off... does your 'graphic' look normal? Or was it a solid
rectangle. If it was a rectangle, then your shaping instructions
will indeed be abnormal. If it has interesting 'fingers' then there
is also a problem.
In
certain situations, users find that they must switch to 256 color
mode in order to get proper graphics for knitting/shaping within
Garment Styler. If, when you request a graphic, you see a solid
rectangle instead of the shape of a garment, you know you need to
move to 256 color mode. What is happening, is that your video driver
is drawing the outer shape of the garment in such a way that there
is a 'hole' where two lines meet. Thus, when Garment Styler goes
to internally 'fill' the garment, the fill leaks creating a solid
rectangle. The knitting/shaping instructions you request will be
'weird' to say the least. Changing to 256 color mode solves all
problems.
