Shawl Collars are unique in that the back collar is attached to the front pattern piece and wraps around to the back neck. There are many different styles you can create with a shawl collar ranging from tailored to very drapey collars. You will learn how to create a Mood Board which will set the tone for your design and inspire you. You will also learn how to choose your fabric and how to plan a garment by developing some base dimensions prior to creating a pattern. \n*Note: You will need to have Style Set 2 in order to have the Shawl Collar option in Garment Designer. If you are not a Garment Designer owner\, you can still participate in the webinar using a commercial pattern which you can modify. \nYou can sew\, knit\, or crochet the entire garment or mix and match parts. This year\, our 2023 retreat\, centered in Verona\, will include day-trips to Venice and Vicenza (or Milan or Padua). It will begin at dinner time on October 10th (the day of arrival) and ends the morning of the October 19th with a farewell coffee.  Maximum group size is 7 persons. \nFashion\, Crafts\, Food… \nThis year\, we have added more emphasis on mini-workshops; some with locals and some with Susan. Topics will revolve around hand-techniques with fiber (Nuno felting)\, dyeing/printing (either Shibori or printing)\, sustainable design projects\, and more. In addition\, we will have fashion appointments that include visits to artisans\, fabric and yarn stores\, designers\, and a knitting mill. There will be two out-of-town trips. As always\, we will also take a trip to Venice to explore its sights and items related to fashion. \nWe hope to attend an event call Abilmente (the Salon of Creative Ideas) which is in Vicenza\, and features exhibits\, workshops\, and vendors.
