DESCRIPTION:Pants Workshop\nWednesday\, May 13th\, 2026 at 9 a.m. PT \nWeb-102B \nFitting Points for Pant patterns\nThis webinar focuses on recognizing pant fit issues\, and how to solve them with pattern making. Learn how to read the wrinkles or stress folds\, and what to do to correct them. After we have viewed the various pattern alterations\, we will have Fit Expert Lorraine Henry join us. For those who have taken the Pants\, Pants – Measuring and Working Towards a Better Fit\, you can submit photos of your muslin in advance of this meeting for analysis by Lorraine. (up to 8 students) Then\, we will spend the second part of the webinar reviewing the images submitted and discussing the appropriate solution. Problems and resolutions will be discussed. For those of you have not taken the prior webinar\, you can still sign up to learn about pattern alterations\, and observe real-people fit critiques. \nTo sign up\, click here. \nNote to Past Webinar Folk: The number of critiques possible is limited due to time constraints. At 9 a.m. \nWeb-171 \nPurchase by clicking here. \n \n \nThe Progressive Design and Fit webinars are designed to aid users in the following way: \n\nTaking accurate measurements\nChoosing the right fabric\nBuilding a Pattern in Garment Designer\nUsing a reference garment\nTesting Fit and the accuracy of your measurement\nSewing Techniques.\n\nAs we progress through the series you will add more measurements and test greater levels of fit according to the garment style. \nThis second webinar focuses on creating two Basic Woven Fabric Tops; one without a dart and one with a side seam bust dart. We will five body measurements to the 10 we took for a T-shirt top with the focus on the bust apex/dart. If you missed the first webinar\, it is not a problem\, you can still gain important knowledge from this webinar full explanations are given. \nWe are choosing to create a dartless and a darted top so that you can see how the two styles differ in ease and armhole depth. Once again\, you will use reference garments to gain basic knowledge. \nYou will see the basic process of measuring reference garments\, drafting the patterns in Garment Designer\, printing and assembling the pattern and then creating a test garment. DESCRIPTION:Fashion\, Textiles\, and Silk Painting in France\nMay 26th – June 5th\, 2026\nLyon and Burgundy\, France\n$1800 \nSilk Painting in Burgundy\n\n  \nThis year we are combining our days of exploring Lyon with days of textile and garment design and Silk Painting in Burgundy with textile artist Nadja Lancelot. \nOur France retreat will begin in Burgundy where we will embark on a magical time with artist Nadja Lancelot\, creating various fabrics using a variety of textile art techniques on silk. Cochenille’s Susan Lazear will also host some workshops in Burgundy. We will explore the area and enjoy the best of French cuisine. \nThen\, we move on to Lyon where we will explore its deep silk and textile heritage. We will have a variety of appointments and excursions. Of course\, we cannot help but enjoy the cuisine\, as Lyon is France’s leading culinary capital.   \nIf you are new to design\, fear not\, we will guide you along. \nDownload our Retreat flyer to see all the amazing activities we have planned.
