Are you tired of making sewn garments or knit/crochet garments that don’t work for you? This online webinar/workshop gives you tools that may help you avoid those disappointments and give you confidence in your choices. \nThis is a three-meeting workshop. The first two meetings are lecture/information webinars. There is a two week gap for students to prepare their capsule wardrobe and email it to Susan who will prepare a PowerPoint to share. The third meeting will involve looking at the various wardrobe plans and discussing. It is not required that you submit a capsule wardrobe but we encourage you to build one. Watching other students’ capsules will also be a learning experience. \nAll sessions will be recorded with the ability to watch later. \nOverview:\nFirst\, you will be instructed on how to do a self-analysis to help you take a fresh look at your body proportions and facial shape. Then\, you will learn how to use line and design to play up your positive features and play down others. The goal is to help you make choices in your garments’ proportions and styles that make you feel good every time you wear them. \nFinally\, we will work through an exercise to develop your capsule wardrobe. You’ll choose a few items from your existing closet\, plan for a few purchases and one (or two) projects to sew\, knit\, or crochet. Learn how to read the wrinkles or stress folds\, and what to do to correct them. After we have viewed the various pattern alterations\, we will have Fit Expert Lorraine Henry join us. For those who have taken the Pants\, Pants – Measuring and Working Towards a Better Fit\, you can submit photos of your muslin in advance of this meeting for analysis by Lorraine. (up to 8 students) Then\, we will spend the second part of the webinar reviewing the images submitted and discussing the appropriate solution. Problems and resolutions will be discussed.
