Cochenille Design Studio will be vending and hosting classes at Convergence 2020

Save the Date! This international fiber art experience will take place in Knoxville, Tennessee July 24 – 27, 2020.

Susan Lazear, owner of Cochenille Design Studio, will be teaching, “Prototyping Garments and Measurements and Patterns”

Convergence® will be held at the Knoxville Convention Center in Knoxville, Tennessee. Additional Sessions will be held next door at the Holiday Inn World’s Fair Park: Downtown Knoxville Hotel.

 

New for 2020:

  • Meals: Share stories of your Convergence® adventure as you dine with old friends and new. Tickets for the Fashion Show and the Keynote both include dinner. You may also purchase a meal plan for additional meals so you may stay close to the fiber action.
  • Skein Competition: Spinners enter your work to be judged and placed on exhibit in the Marketplace.
  • Panels: Each afternoon we offer an informational panel on opportunities for artists and crafters. Learn from those who have done it. A special evening panel will take place Sunday when Cathryn Bergeman moderates a panel on her graduate thesis topic: The Handweavers of Modern-Day Southern Appalachia: An Ethnographic Case Study. Admission is included with the purchase of a CVP or Day Pass.
  • Silent Auction: HGA has some fiber goodies we’ve collected. Get in on the action and join us in the Marketplace and place your bid. All proceeds benefit HGA’s Fiber Trust.
  • Thread Talks: Share with our audience your story or one of your fiber art experiences.

This webinar has been cancelled and will be hosted again in the future.

Stitch Painter Full Color Import plug-in allows you to take your full colored scanned images and import them into Cochenille’s Stitch Painter software.

Take a photo or clip art and easily transform it into a gridded design perfect for cross stitch, pixel art, mosaics, and more.

Learn how to take full advantage of the Full Color Import module of Stitch Painter. In this webinar you will learn the basic steps of taking a photo or clip art image and bringing it into Stitch Painter. Grid it, pull a color palette, or simply use the color proportions as a guide for good design. Susan will walk you through multiple uses of this great tool. You’ll also learn how to utilize some of the new features of Stitch Painter 3.

For those who have not yet attended, a webinar is a 60 to 70 minute online class to include Lecture, Question & Answer and PDF Handouts for personal use.

Webinars need a minimum of three participants to host. If we do not meet this minimum the webinar will be cancelled two days prior, so be sure to register early.

Webinars will be available to review for attendees who sign up prior to the scheduled webinar but are unable to attend at that time. The video will be completely unedited, directly from the webinar meeting. It will be available for three days after the webinar is hosted. You must sign up prior to the scheduled date.
