Many top designers in the textile and craft design field are now creating art disks that work beautifully with Stitch Painter, Photoshop and other paint programs. Some of the disks consist of artwork for garment or product illustration. Other disks are imagery disks, which contain artwork for sweaters or projects. All the imagery disks will work not only with Cochenille's Bit Knitter but with many other design systems. The File Format for IBM is .PCX, and for MAC is .PICT.

The art disks allow you the creative freedom to modify the garment shape, fill in the garment pattern with your textile and craft design, experiment with colors, preview ribbing colors or design a layout. Turn a cardigan into a pullover, change a sleeve length, and you needn't stop there. Once you complete your design, you can print out the image.

How do I use these?

Sweater Bodies I
Contains approximately 25 files of line drawings of sweaters. One directory contains various poses of the standard crew neck. Another contains various basic bodies (e.g. crew neck, boat neck and V-neck). A third directory contains more exotic sweaters.

Fashion Croquis
A 'croquis' (pronounced crow-kee) is a French word for a fashion model. This disk consists of 20 plus 'poses' of unclothed men, women and children. The object of the disk is to let you draw the clothing yourself on the bodies, using their 'pose' as a starting point.

Fashion Garments I
A new addition to our library, contains more fashion forward garment designs that can be utilized not only in knits, but in other fabrications as well. Two talented women, Eungih Min and Julie Shin share their art and design talents with you. The disk contains approximately 25 fashion illustrations, primarily women.

Body Shapes
A new disk designed for variable figure types. If you are not the perfect model figure, then this disk is designed for you. The disk contains numerous mannequins (figure types). Look for the one that suits your shape the best. Then either draw over the body, or alter one of the basic garments designed to fit this body shape. Experiment by adding color, additional design lines, etc. You will see how easy it is to design garments tailored to your body proportions. The disk contains approximately 7 body shapes and 20 garments .

Fashion Poses
From illustrator Ivan Liew we have Fashion Poses containing Mannequin fashion illustrations of people wearing garments. These three handy disks eliminate the need to draw hands, faces or feet. You can also use these disks to visualize garment/fabric combinations or to experiment with garment detailing. Add new design lines, change a pocket placement and experiment with new ideas. You may choose from the Women's Disk with 20 women/sweater styles, the Men's Disk with the same selection of male shapes or the Children's Disk with poses of nearly 30 children (including infants).

Garments as Wearable Art
By Farhad Elahi. This is a disk of garment ensemble line drawings. Most of the garments follow the Wearable Art silhouette. Once again, you can visualize your fabrics in the garments. This disk is particularly good for knitters, weavers, quilters and other fiber artists.

The Paper Doll Series
No one ever outgrows paper dolls.! Susan Lazear and designer/illustrator Farhad Elahi created The Paper Doll series, a collection of garments with paper tabs, fitted to a fashion body. If you like, you may remove the tabs and stamp the garment on the doll to create fashion illustrations. There are three disks available; Men's, Women's and Children's or the set.. They all work with each other, so you can create an entire family. Each disk contains a body, and approximately 25 clothing items.

Sweater Parts
Is a diskette of different sweater parts that you can use to build a garment in your paint program. These images work best with a paint program that allows you to either use brushes, or to use cut and paste with a clipboard.
